Chest pain
causes severe confusion and anxiety in many people. Chest pain is not only
caused by heart disease but can also be caused by any damage
to the
arteries, lungs, stomach, esophagus, neck and upper back.
Sometimes people misunderstand the chest
pain as the heart pain which is actually not related to heart but people get
psychologically confused and take it as a heart attack. And sometimes it is a case of
heart attack symptoms but people ignored it and
consider it as
a minor
case of stomach gas. In both the cases situation is dangerous.
So, we must know some basic things about
the difference between chest because of other problems and because
of heart attack.

Location
of the heart in chest:
We often hear that the heart is on the left side of
our chest, although this is not the case. The human heart is almost in the
middle of our chest.
Signs and Symptoms of a heart attack:
First of all, let's talk about the symptoms of
heart attack.
This pain arises in the front part of the chest and
lasts for several minutes. There is no need to worry about the pain
that though arises from the front of the chest but lasts for a few seconds or less
than a minute.
1 1)
Chest pain
that is because of a heart attack, arises from the front of the chest and spreads to the shoulders
and
the back side of the chest and
to the neck
and jaw.
2 2) There is also a feeling of uncomfortable in the
middle of the chest for several minutes and feeling as if pressure is being
applied to the area.
3 3)
Difficulty breathing and feeling
heavy in the chest, cold sweats, nausea or vomiting, feeling light headedness, pain in one or both
hands, back, pain in the neck, jaw, and generalized restlessness.
In any such case, the patient should see a doctor
immediately. Get ECG, echo and blood tests done. Because even after
there is no evident sign of heart attack in ECG, 20% of the patients are still
at risk of heart attack.
Other causes of chest pain:
If you still feel chest pain, pressure or irritation
after all the tests are done and there is no indication of heart
attack, there
may be one of the following reasons.
Stomach gas:
The first and foremost cause is gastric gas, which can
cause chest tightness, burning and stinging pain.
Depression and tension:
The second major cause is depression and tension. Symptoms similar to a
heart attack can also appear during severe depression and tension.
Any injury to the chest:
A third cause of chest pain is usually a chest injury.
In addition, a cold in the winter can also cause chest pain.
Remember, consult your doctor
immediately
and try to find out the cause if you have any chest pain,
chest
tightness, chest pressure, irritation or nervousness, or any
pain that get worse with strenuous work, exercise and leaning forward
and that get better at rest.
At the end, whether it is heart pain or chest pain, it is better to consult a doctor and be satisfied than to suffer from any confusion.
